For some years we have talked about going to the Shanes Castle Steam Rally, this last May bank holiday weekend we were in Northern Ireland with a free day so headed over to Antrim for the day and finally attended the rally.
The rally was well attended with a variety of traction engines in steam, there was even one giving free rides:
There were showman's engines such as this huge engine:
Steam wagons included full size, for example this Foden:
And also some rather good working models, here another smaller Foden:
There were many working exhibits, for example traditional threshing and baling:
Additionally there were other vehicles including military and commercial vehicles, I liked this Mini, complete with eyelashes!

This brings back happy childhood memories. Time for a return visit for me perhaps. Love the flirty mini!
